If you’re not into paying for a monthly subscription to HBO, but want to get a taste of their original series everyone talks about, the premium-subscription network is now offering episodes of the shows on Google Play. HBO original series shows now available at the Google Play store include Boardwalk Empire, Game of Thrones, Girls, The Newsroom, The Wire, True Blood, and Veep. Prices range from $1.99 to $2.99 per episode to purchase a la carte. Or, you an alternatively purchase the entire season of a show. For example, all episodes of Game of Thrones Season Two costs $28.99. (Compare that with the price of the Blu-ray boxed set of Season Two which sells for about $50 (MSRP $79.99). The online store plans to release more programming in cooperation with HBO in the near future.
If you haven’t tried watching TV on Google Play, the site offers quite a few shows to view for free, including episodes of the animated series Dragon Hunters, the documentary series Stop Bullying Speak Up, and single episodes from Betrayal, The Goldbergs, and Trophy Wife.
