xfinity-logo-300pxHere’s some good news for XFINITY internet subscribers in Oregon, SW Washington, D.C., and Washington State areas. Comcast has announced an increase in download and upload speeds for customers with Blast!, Extreme 50 and Performance service plans. This means faster internet, file downloads, online video game play, and improvements in streaming video quality.

The Blast! plan is increasing download speeds up to 50 Mbps from 25 Mbps (upload 10 Mbps from 4 Mbps). The Extreme 50 plan is increasing download speeds to 105 Mbps from 50 Mbps (upload 20 Mbps from 15 Mbps). And, the Performance plan is increasing download streams to 20 Mbps from 15 Mbps  (upload 4 Mbps from 2 Mbps).

The internet speed improvements come at no additional charge to customers. To experience the quicker internet speeds you have to restart your modem.

Comcast notes that Blast! subscribers with 1.1 or 2.0 cable modems will need to exchange them for 3.0 modems to see the increased internet speed.
