Perhaps you planned to celebrate the expected August 5 landing of NASA's Curiosity rover on the surface of Mars with a six pack of Zima and a bag of Funyuns? How about a free game instead? Mars Rover Landing is available right now for free download on Xbox Live. Gameplay involves the Kinect motion sensor, letting players take control of the spacecraft during the so-called "seven minutes of terror" as it enters the red planet's atmosphere. "Families can get a taste of the daring that's involved in this, just landing this mission on the surface," says Doug McCuistion, director of NASA's Mars Exploration Program. "It's going to be very similar to the way the team actually is going to do that."
We now know with certainty that there will be a Battlefield 4. EA made it official today in a press release, stating that customers who pre-order Medal of Honor: Warfighter will have early access to the BF4 beta in fall 2013. That seems to indicate a late '13/early '14 release date, meaning it'd be at least two years in between Battlefield games, since BF3 was released in October 2011. Meanwhile, Warfighter comes out October 23, and this new video shows off the multiplayer portion of the game.
