With all due apologies to Mario Tennis Open, we’ve deemed this week’s big game release to be Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Future Soldier ($59.99, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3). Ubisoft’s long-awaited follow-up to 2006’s Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter lets you get your hands on more than 50 weapons as you track down high-value terror targets in eight spots around the globe. Of course multiplayer is also a big part of the experience, and Future Solider offers four game modes, ten maps and multiple classes to stretch your dollars out for months to come. Early reviews for the game are above average. If you’re new to the series, be warned: The pace of the gameplay is much slower and more deliberate than anything from the Call of Duty or Battlefield franchises. Take a look at the trailer for a taste of the action.
