Netflix will soon add titles from The Weinstein Company to its streaming library, thanks to a multi-year deal announced yesterday. Netflix now has online distribution rights of titles such as 10x Academy Award nominated “The Artist,” Academy Award nominee for Best Documentary Feature “Undefeated,” and the French-language World War II drama “Sarah’s Key.” Other titles include “W.E.,” “Coriolanus,” and “The Intouchables.” We’re not exactly sure when the new titles will hit the Netflix servers, but we’re hoping soon since Starz titles (many of them blockbusters) will go away at the end of the month. You might be asking, well what about more mainstream titles such as “Apollo 18” and “Inglourious Basterds?” A good portion of Weinstein films are still tied up in a distribution deal with HBO and Showtime. For now, you might want to keep those premium subscriptions.
