Check out this video of YouTube user KinectFAAST who integrates Kinect technology to control gestures in Skyrim on the PC. The program, called FAAST, is middleware that runs on the OpenNI framework. The OpenNI framework doesn’t support voice so the guy uses VAC (Voice Activated Commands) software to convert spoken words to keystrokes via a RazorFish bluetooth headset. Cool stuff, and makes you wonder why Skyrim developers didn’t integrate Kinect technology into the game. Heck, I’m not complaining. Skyrim is incredible. But putting down the Xbox controller for a bit would be nice.
