From Best Buy to Amazon to Gary, the neighborhood “merchant” who sells Atari games out of the back of his ’94 Taurus, it seems like everyone is tearing video game prices to shreds this week.

Best Buy stores open at Midnight, 12:00 AM on Friday, November 25. (Stores are closed on Thanksgiving day.) Best Buy will hand out tickets to customers sometime during the two hours before opening at Midnight. Stores will close on Friday, November 25, at 10 p.m.

This week Amazon has got some amazing Blu-ray deals, with hi-def titles as low as $4.99. We're not talking bargain basket movies either. These are the must-have Blu-ray Discs for your collection, such as X-Men: First Class, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 1 , and the hit comedy (for girls and gals, alike) Bridesmaids, each for $9.99.

If you're looking for a new game to check out id Software's Rage demo is now available on Xbox Live. With plenty of blood, violence and gore Rage takes you into a post-apocalyptic world called the Wasteland. For gamers who get excited about detailed environments, Rage is loaded with texture. According to id Software President Todd Hollenshead, the extensive details in the game are possible because textures are streamed in to avoid being constrained by system memory. If you haven't seen Rage yet here's your chance to get a look. And, those of you with PS3 consoles should be able to download the Rage demo from the PlayStation Network on December 6. Rage carries an MSRP of $59.99 but this Black Friday weekend you'll be able to find it from various retailers for $29.99. Rage is published by Bethesda Softworks and was released for Xbox 360, PS3, and Windows PCs on October 4, 2011.

You can use services online to perform a broadband speed test to see if your connection is as fast as it should be; if it's not, there are a number of things you can do to improve it

Netflix has announced their "Just for Kids" instant watch section is now available on the Wii system. The Wii interface addition may ease some parent's fears that their kids might accidentally start streaming a rated "R" or questionable "Unrated" film from the Netflix library.

DIRECTV recently launched an update to their free iPad app which will allow you to watch live TV from anywhere in your home or office where a DIRECTV HD DVR is connected to a network with internet access. The iPad app also allows you to record, search and control content from your lineup including setting parental controls. The update (Version 1.3.5) also fixes an audio issue which streams sound when the mute button is pressed. You can download the free iPad app from the App Store on Apple's iTunes.
