Universal bows ‘To Kill a Mockingbird 50th Anniversary Edition’

Universal’s 3-time Oscar winning film To Kill a Mockingbird will celebrate the 50th anniversary of the film’s theatrical release in 1962. Universal will release the fully restored movie to hi-def Blu-ray Disc for the first time, on January 31, 2012. To Kill a Mockingbird stars Gregory Peck (Winner “Best Actor”) as Atticus Finch — a lawyer defending a young black man in Alabama in the 1930s. Universal will bow several editions of the 50th anniversary release including a Limited Edition Collector’s Series Blu-ray Combo Pack, Blu-ray Combo Pack and DVD. The discs contain over three-hours of bonus material such as a full-length documentary on the making the of the film, a conversation with Gregory Peck, and a detailed look at the film restoration process. The Limited Edition Collector’s Series includes a Blu-ray, DVD and Digital Copy of the film, all packaged in a hardcover book loaded with movie memorabilia.
