20th Century Fox has announced Rise of the Planet of the Apes on Blu-ray Disc and DVD. So far two editions are scheduled to hit shelves on Dec. 13, 2011 including a Two-Disc Blu-ray/DVD Combo with Digital Copy ($39.99) and Single-Disc DVD ($29.99). Both editions contain deleted scenes, theatrical trailers, and featurettes “Mythology of the Apes” and “The Genius of Andy Serkis.” The Blu-ray edition contains six more production and subject featurettes along with audio commentary. Both editions are available for pre-order from Amazon, currently priced at $27.99 and $17.99, respectively.
