HBO will tape the upcoming Lady Gaga concert at Madison Square Garden on February 21 & 22, but you’ll have to wait three months until it airs on May 7. The concert will be Lady Gaga’s first solo concert on HBO, and will include a ten-piece band and ten backup dancers.
Lady Gaga, born Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta, will return to her hometown of New York for the concert titled “Lady Gaga Presents the Monster Ball Tour at Madison Square Garde.” Local alternative/pop group Scissor Sisters will be the opening act for the event.
“Lady Gaga is the single most exciting music talent on the scene today,” said HBO Entertainment president Sue Naegle. “We’re especially thrilled that she’ll be creating unique new elements for the special that will make the show an even more memorable experience for our viewers.”
Gaga’s new album titled “Born This Way” is scheduled to release on May 23, 2011.
