Netflix goes mobile on iPhone & iTouch

Great news for Apple customers. Netflix subscribers can now watch streaming Netflix content on iPhones and iTouch mobile devices. Apple’s Steve Jobs first showed off the Netflix app on an iPhone 4 in June — which works on both Wi-Fi and 3G networks.

Features similar to TV viewing include fast forwarding, rewinding, and pausing. You’ll also be able to pick up where you left off if you stopped viewing the stream.

You only need the basic $8.99 plan to use the service, and the Netflix app is available free of charge through iPhone and iPod Touch app stores, and at www.itunes.com/appstore/. You must be running iOS version 3.13 or later to use the app.

“We’re excited that our members can now carry Netflix around in their pockets and instantly watch movies and TV shows streamed from Netflix right to their iPhone or iPod touch,” said Netflix co-founder and chief executive officer Reed Hastings.
