Sharp has added SRS TruSurround XT to two of its LCD HDTV series. The AQUOS A77M series and the AQUOS A66M series will integrate the surround technology into its built-in stereo speakers.
SRS’ TruSurround XT processes multi-channel audio in a way that produces surround sound as if there were multiple speakers around the room. Bass levels are increased, and spoken audio is enhanced to be more audible.
Unfortunately the models are currently only available across Asia, China, Africa and the Middle East.
“For the consumer, TruSurround XT means they can enjoy HD content that’s buoyed by an immersive surround sound experience without the need for complicated wiring and speaker setup,” said Allen H. Gharapetian, VP of Marketing for SRS Labs.
SRS Labs is running a sweepstakes here in the U.S. to give away three HDTVs featuring SRS TruSurround XT. The sweepstakes will take place July 20 – August 17, 2009.
