CTV, Canada’s largest private broadcaster, announced today completion of an over-the-air HD transmitter in Calgary. CTV Calgary brings top-rated programming such as American Idol, CSI, and Grey’s Anatomy to residents, and now those shows will be available in high-definition.
CTV was the first Canadian network to broadcast in high-definition. It is a privately owned network that launched its first HD broadcast in 2003. CTV Television is owned by media company CTVglobemedia, which has operations in television, radio and internet.
CTV Network in HD can be found on the following digital channels: Toronto (Ch. 40), Vancouver (Ch. 33), and Calgary (Ch. 36).
