Comcast adds 3 HD networks in central Illinois

Comcast has added three new HD networks to its lineup in central Illinois. The high-definition networks include Fox News Channel HD, FX HD and Speed Channel HD.  The areas now able to get the HD channels include Galesburg, East Galesburg and Knoxville.

The cable TV service provider also tripled its VOD titles which now exceed 10,000, with 1,000 of those titles being offered in HD.

Comcast has added 25 new HD channels since last April ’08. Customers must have an HD receiver, HDTV and subscription to the Digital Starter service.

“We’re thrilled to triple the amount of On Demand programming we offer, and are especially excited about the new HD additions,” said Greg Capranica, Comcast central Illinois area vice president.
