Plextor announced today availability of two multi-function disc drives that support both Blu-ray and HD DVD. Both drives feature 4X BD-R write speed for burning Blu-ray discs. The PX-B920SA and PX-B300SA are shipping at the end of this month to distributers in North and South America.
Both the PX-B920SA and PX-B300SA feature 4X BD-R write speed for burning Blu-ray discs, and a Serial ATA (SATA) interface at up to 150 Mbits/sec. Playback is 4.8X for Blu-Ray BDMV (movie) discs and 3X for HD DVD.
The drives also support various DVD and CD formats including 4X DVD±R for both dual-layer and double-layer (DL) media. The internal drives feature a 4MB data buffer and are LightScribe enabled.
The PX-B920SA will retail for $599 and the PX-B300SA for $499.
