Masters multi-channel HD broadcast a first

directv logoDIRECTV will offer customers multi-channel HD coverage of the 2008 Masters Golf Tournament. The announcement from DIRECTV is first of its kind, and will include both CBS and ESPN coverage from the Augusta National Golf Club course. All channels will be available in both HD and STD.

The broadcast will feature a Masters Mix Channel, which will display four different views of the tournament on one screen. Viewers will be able to follow players from four different locations, including the famous “Amen Corner”. Interactive features include the ability to access scores and stats, a top five leaderboard, history and trivia by clicking on a menu that appears on each channel.

The 2008 Masters Golf Tournament runs April 10-13. ESPN will cover the first two rounds, with CBS picking up the final two rounds.
