Transformers director alleges Microsoft HD DVD conspiracy

Michael Bay, the director of Transformers, says that Microsoft has deliberately picked HD DVD to blur the fact that Blu-ray is a better format. Their objective? Keep the format war going until they can crush both sides with a viable digital download solution. He threatened not to direct a Transformers 2 movie if they didn’t release it on Blu-ray. Keep your shirt on Michael, do we really need another cartoon on the big screen? I hated Transformers when I was a kid and hate them even more now.

And as far the formats? Who cares. In another year they will have a cheap player for both formats. Just like I have Quicktime, MPG, and AVI files on my PC, there is room in my house for two disc formats.
