From Comic-Con 2007, the announcement comes that Star Trek The Original Series will be released on HD DVD. How can Blu-ray be winning the format race if Star Trek The Original Series is coming to HD DVD? This is the sci-fi lovers first obsession. There is no better than Star Trek. And Star Trek in hi def? Need I say more?
So who really is winning the format war? With “Heroes” 1st season coming out next month, Star Trek 1st season in November, “The Matrix Trilogy” already out, and other great titles that are exclusive to HD DVD, how could Blu-ray possibly take over the market? Won’t happen. Neither team will win. It will be a long unhappy marriage until downloadable media beats both.
The Star Trek 10-disc set will contain all episodes from the first season and retail for $217.99. This is must have for your hi def collection. For those of you who can’t wait, watch Star Trek in digital on NBC, it is the best the original series has ever looked (check your local listings).
