At the Mall of America in Minneapolis, MN, Panasonic displayed all their latest plasma technology including a whopping 103 incher. The event, which took place on Black Friday (the day after Thanksgiving) ended a tour of several cities in the U.S.
LG had the largest display at one time at 71″. Samsung had unveiled an 80″ plasma display, and at the time announced developing a 102″ display, released in Dec. 04. So Panasonic beat them by an inch with their new 103″ 1080p plasma TV. The screen is the equivalent of four 50″ panels, and displays consistent image and brightness from corner to corner.
This panel sells for only $70k (I wonder if they would throw in a BD Player if I bought one), and according to Panasonics reps is available for consumers to purchase. The display was on view at the 2006 International CES convention, and hopefully will shown again in 2007.
