Every so often DirecTV provides a free preview of their HD Extra Pack, a bundle of hi-def channels that usually costs $4.99 per month and includes networks such as HDNet Movies, MGM HD, Sony Movie Channel HD and Universal HD. The high-definition choices can be found from Channel 565 through 573 on the DirecTV guide. The free preview of the HD Extra Pack will start on Thursday, September 1st and run through Wednesday, September 7th.
