Microsoft has dropped the price of its Xbox 360 entry level gaming console. Starting this Friday, Sept. 5, the Xbox 360 Arcade will retail for $199, the Xbox 360 will sell for $299, and the Xbox 360 Elite will retail for $399. The Xbox 360 Arcade is now less expensive than the most popular gaming console Wii.
According to a Reuters report, TiVo and DirecTV are teaming up to develop a new DVR. Shares of Tivo went up 32 cents a share this morning following the announcement. The two companies will extend their current partnership and have included in the agreement the development of a new high-definition DirecTV DVR with TiVo service.
Verizon announced availability of FiOS TV in Ashland, MA, giving residents the option of HDTV via fiber-optics. Last week, Verizon added 75 more channels, 55 of them being high-definition (HD) channels, to their FiOS TV service in Rhode Island and Massachusetts.
