LG is launching a suite of 3D TVs based on their top-of-the-line “Infinia” LED displays. The Infinia LX9500 and LX6500 series HDTVs models utilize active-shutter 3D technology, and feature NetCast allowing access to web content from Netflix, CinemaNow, VUDU, YouTube, and MLB.TV.
The LX6500 series (47″ and 55″ sizes) feature LED Plus technology, 8,000,000:1 contrast ratio, and TruMotion 240Hz refresh rate.
The LX9500 series (47″ and 55″ sizes) feature Full LED Slim technology, 10,000,000:1 contrast ratio, 240 addressable LED segments (on the 55LX9500), and 480Hz refresh rate.
Both models are Wi-Fi enabled, meaning, you’ll need a separate adapter to go wireless.
The company is also launching its first 3D-capable Network Blu-ray Disc player. The LG BX580, will also allow access to web content via NetCast, including Netflix, CinemaNow, VUDU, YouTube, and MLB.TV.
LG will offer a bundle with the launch of their new 3D product line. Those who purchase any LG LX9500 or LX6500 LED HDTV along with the LG 3D Blu-ray Disc Player will get two free pairs of the 3D active shutter glasses, a $100 instant rebate and a bonus redemption certificate to receive Warner Home Video’s Blu-ray 3D title “IMAX Under the Sea 3D.”
The 47″ LX9500 will retail for $4,300 and the 55″ LX9500 for $5,400. The 47″ LX6500 will retail for $2,699 and the 55″ LX6500 for $$3,599.
The LX9500 models will launch in July. LG didn’t give an estimated launch date for the LX6500 or BX580 Blu-ray player.
