Paramount has announced the home release date for Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters, and revealed an unrated version of the film will be included in both the Blu-ray/DVD combo and the Blu-ray 3D/Blu-ray/DVD combo pack. Following a new trend in home media, Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters will initially be released for Digital Download on May 21st. The next month on June 11th, the film will be released to Blu-ray 3D, Blu-ray, DVD, and On Demand. Both Blu-ray Combo packs will also include a Digital Copy and UltraViolet access code to download or stream from Paramount’s cloud server.
Along with the theatrical and unrated version of the film, extras on both Blu-ray combo packs include the featurettes “Reinventing Hansel & Gretel,” “The Witching Hours,” and “Meet Edward the Troll.” The unrated version also contains unseen footage that Paramount calls “too intense for theaters.” The Blu-ray Discs are formatted in 1080p with English 5.1 Dolby TrueHD for audio.
