DirecTV has started a free preview of the Movies Extra Pack that includes MGM, Sony Movie Channel, HDNET Movies, Hallmark Movies & Mysteries, Hallmark Drama, Crime & Investigation, Smithsonian Channel, ShortsTV, and MTV Live. The free preview runs from Aug. 21 through Aug. 27, 2019.
There are plenty of Oscar-winning war films to watch during the preview. Playing on HDNET Movies is 4x Oscar-winner Unforgiven (1992) starring Clint Eastwood, Gene Hackman, and Morgan Freeman. On MGM, you watch Oscar-winner The Alamo (1960) directed and starring John Wayne. And on Sony Movie Channel The Guns of Navarone (1961) starring David Niven, Gregory Peck, and Anthony Quinn also received an Academy Award.
On Smithsonian HD, check out episodes of “UFOs Declassified.” MTV Live HD has 2019 VMA Performer Spotlights. And, Hallmark Drama HD is running episodes of “Little House on the Prairie.”
Programming from the Movies Extra Pack can also be streamed live on computers, tablets, and phones. (On computers, you’ll need the Adobe Flash player.) The 9 channels included in the Movies Extra Pack typically cost $4.99 per month.

It is so nice that DirecTV is offering these free trials and things but you would think it would be even nicer if they would give notice to a customer of 10 years in their monthly effed-up bill or something!
