More Sony 4k/HDR TVs are among the list of Vudu-supporting devices with the newest update to their Android TV app. The new version 4.2.52 app, posted Sept. 10, supports 4k video as well as content with HDR that uses Dolby Vision or HDR10.
The update covers 2016 models X830/800/750/700D, S850D, and Z9D series, as well as 2017 models X850/820/800/750E, X950/940/930E, and A1E series. 2018 Sony 4k TVs are already supported.
“4K and HDR represent the best possible cinematic experience at home – and we want to be able to deliver that exceptional experience to as many people as possible, across as many devices as possible,” said Kristine Lopes, Sr Manager, Product Marketing.
Customers with auto-update enabled on their Android TV don’t have to take any steps except be connected to the internet. Others can simply go to the Google Play Store and get the latest version.
