Ridley’s Scott’s Robin Hood (2010) will release to 4k Ultra HD Blu-ray . The film is presented in 2:40.1 widescreen aspect ratio at 2160p resolution with High Dynamic Range via the HDR10 specification. For audio, the movie has been upgraded to English DTS:X immersive audio soundtrack (backed by DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 track).
The 4k home media release could be considered “real” and not upscaled as the original film was mastered in 4k from a Super 35mm source format. The edition includes both the theatrical version (2hrs. 21min) and Unrated Director’s Edition (2hrs. 36min) of the film.
The combo pack from Universal also includes a Blu-ray and Digital Copy along with the Ultra HD Blu-ray Disc.
Unfortunately, the new 4k edition doesn’t appear to include any new bonus content. However, previously-released extras from the 2010 disc release include a Director’s Notebook, The Art of Nottingham with design explorations of the film, “Rise and Rise Again: Making Ridley Scott’s Robin Hood,” deleted scenes, and introduction and commentary by editor Pietro Scalia.
Robin Hood on 4k Blu-ray releases Tuesday, Sept. 11 and is list-priced $29.98. Pre-orders (available below) are currently priced $25.64 on Amazon.
The new 4k release anticipates a new Robin Hood movie from Lionsgate that opens to theaters on November 21, 2018.
