DirecTV is offering live coverage of the US Open Golf Tournament in 4K/HDR from Shinnecock Hills Golf Club in New York. The 4k coverage can be found on DirecTV Channel 106 105, and what is a first for a golf tournament will be delivered via 5G network.
The coverage starts today with the “USGA Celebration of Champions” — a four-hole (alternate-shot) exhibition featuring amateurs and professionals at holes 10 through 13. The first round of the US Open from Shinnecock Hills begins on Thursday, June 14 and runs through Sunday, June 17 for the final round.
The live coverage is all new, although it appears DirecTV may be rebroadcasting some of the events. Check your guide for additional times.
DirecTV customers need an Ultra HD TV to view the 4k programming. On PCs, customers will see the message “Programming information not available” on Channel 105.
Note: [The US Open in 4k has been moved to Channel 105 as the FIFA World Cup has been assigned to Channel 106.]
