Like the previous two years DIRECTV will broadcast select holes from The Masters Tournament in Augusta, Georgia in 4k Ultra HD with HDR. The coverage begins on Thursday April 5 and runs through Sunday, April 8 with the course’s windy “Amen Corner” at the 11th, 12th and 13th holes on Channel 105, and the 15th and 16th holes on Channel 106.
Getting 4k from DIRECTV isn’t as easy as plugging in a 4k TV. First, you need to know whether the 4k TV is DIRECTV-Certified. That will determine whether or not you need 4k Genie Mini along with a a Genie HD DVR (Model HR54). Regardless of TV model, you’ll need to have the DIRECTV SELECT package or higher. And, unfortunately after all that a certified DIRECTV installer needs to set up the 4k account.
