The Lara Croft ‘Tomb Raider’ films based on the video game from Square Enix are both releasing to 4k Ultra HD Blu-ray. Lara Croft: Tomb Raider (2001) directed by Simon West and Lara Croft Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life (2003) directed by Jan de Bont have both been digitally remastered to 2160p resolution.
The Tomb Raider films star Angelina Jolie as the beautiful archaeologist/adventurer Lara Croft whose mission is to uncover ancient and powerful artifacts.
On Ultra HD Blu-ray, the 2160p video includes specifications for High Dynamic Range color improvements on 4k HDR TVs and devices that support Dolby Vision.
As far as audio, the soundtrack for both movies on 4k Blu-ray is presented in English DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 (the same as the originally-released Blu-ray editions). There are also multiple language tracks in 5.1 channel French and Spanish on ‘The Cradle of Life.’ The original ‘Tomb Raider’ film includes even more languages like Russian, Portuguese, and variations of French and Spanish.
Lara Croft: Tomb Raider and Lara Croft Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life are both list-priced at $31.99 and will release on Feb. 27, 2018. The titles are available to pre-order from Amazon below.
