The BBC’s full-length documentary Earth: One Amazing Day will release to Ultra HD Blu-ray Disc on Jan. 23, 2018. Unlike many newer films that release simultaneously to 4k Blu-ray, Blu-ray Disc and DVD, it appears Earth: One Amazing Day will only be available on Ultra HD Blu-ray and DVD.
Luckily though, the combo edition from BBC Earth Films includes both Blu-ray formats, so those of you who haven’t upgraded yet to 4k Blu-ray can still enjoy the Blu-ray copy at a price that is not much higher than typical new Blu-ray releases. (See below for Amazon pricing.)
The film is narrated by Robert Redford and Jackie Chan, taking viewers from the highest mountains to the remotest islands to exotic jungles over the course of one single day.
Earth: One Amazing Day on Ultra HD Blu-ray is provided in 2160p resolution with HDR (High Dynamic Range) color that’s sure to show off the capabilities of 4k HDR TVs. The Associated Press calls the production a “cinematic triumph,” and The Village Voice calls it “ideal family viewing.”
The movie first aired in the United States on Oct. 6, 2017.
