Redbox announced this morning a seven-day window for Warner Bros. titles on Blu-ray and DVD. That means Redbox customers can get new titles just a week after they release to retail stores on disc and On Demand.
At Redbox kiosks DVDs cost $1.50 a day to rent, while Blu-ray Discs cost $2 per day and video games $3 per day.
“Our latest deal signals Redbox’s steadfast commitment to making new release entertainment readily available to consumers across America, for as low as $1.50 a night,” said Galen Smith, CEO of Redbox.
If the new agreement takes place immediately, the Warner Bros. title Fist Fight (releasing May 30) would be available at Redbox kiosks on or around June 6.
Redbox recently announced the addition of 1,500 new rental kiosks to be added in 2017 throughout the United States. 300 of those new kiosks were added in the first quarter, contributing to a goal of over 41,500 locations by the end of the year.
