Roku sent out an email to customers letting them know about a free $5 credit towards the purchase or rental of movies and TV shows on Vudu. To get the $5 credit, just look for an email from Roku that will contain a 16-digit promo code. Then, go to vudu.com/moviecredits and enter the code.
Vudu customers (those with an account can use the credit towards a newly-released title such Suicide Squad, or, get a title almost for free in the site’s monthly $6.99 specials. Right now Vudu has over 120 titles and collections on sale for $6.99 in HDX such as A.I. Artificial Intelligence, Road Warrior, and Big Mommas: Like Father, Like Son.
With the $5 credit, a $6.99 purchase will cost $1.99 plus any applicable taxes.
Let’s not forget that Vudu recently starting offering free streaming of select titles in their “Movies On Us” section. The ad-supported service features movies like Space Jam, The Last King of Scotland, and Legally Blonde. Newly added films in December include Austin Powers in Goldmember, Paranormal Activity, and The Perfect Storm.
