Cinemax’s new original series Outcast officially premieres on Friday, June 3rd at 10 PM. But anyone, even non-subscribers, can watch the first episode free-of-charge on the network’s YouTube channel. The new show comes from Robert Kirkman — the creator of the The Walking Dead and Fear the Walking Dead series, starring Wrenn Schmidt, Patrick Fugit, and Philip Glenister.
The first episode titled “A Darkness Surrounds Him” is what you might expect from Kirkman — a visual treat with enough gore and action to keep you wanting more. Intended for mature audiences, the first scene opens with a young boy who is possessed by a demon. Kyle Barnes (played by Fugit), the protagonist who has been battling demons his whole life, joins with the Reverend Anderson (played by Glenister) to help the boy.
The ten-episode season will run through August 5th. As of this posting, the 55-minute episode has been viewed at least partially over half-a-million times. Head over to YouTube to watch Outcast Episode 1.
From Cinemax:
Based on the Skybound/Image comic title by creator Robert Kirkman and artist Paul Azaceta, the series follows Kyle Barnes, a young man who has been plagued by demonic possession all his life. Now, with the help of the Reverend Anderson, a preacher with personal demons of his own, Kyle embarks on a journey to find answers and regain the normal life he lost. But what Kyle discovers could change his fate — and the fate of the world — forever.
