The Divergent Series: Allegiant will release to Ultra HD Blu-ray and Blu-ray on Tuesday, July 12, and Lionsgate has revealed the specs and bonus material to be included with each BD combo edition. The 2-disc Ultra HD Blu-ray edition includes a Blu-ray copy, while the 2-disc Blu-ray edition includes a DVD copy.
Extra content on the Blu-ray editions includes these six featurettes: “Allegiant: Book to Film,” “Battle in the Bullfrog: The Stunts and Choreography Behind This Thrilling Sequence,” “Finding the Future: Effects & Technology,” “Characters in Conflict: The Motivations Behind the Film’s Antagonists,” and “The Next Chapter: Cast & Characters and Building the Bureau.”
The two editions will also include audio commentary from producers Douglas Wick and Lucy Fisher.
On Ultra HD Blu-ray, the film is presented in 2160p resolution with HVEC/H.265 video compression. On conventional Blu-ray, the 1080p video is compressed using H.264 in MPEG-4. Audio is offered on both BD editions in English Dolby Atmos, an immersive surround sound format that can down-sample to your highest audio quality setting.
In addition to the bonus material, both the Ultra HD Blu-ray and Blu-ray editions include a redemption code to get a Digital HD copy of the film via Ultraviolet or iTunes.
The Divergent Series: Allegiant is the third film the franchise that stars Shailene Woodley as Beatrice “Tris” Prior. A forth film, ‘Ascendant’, is slated for release in June, 2017.
