DirecTV is currently offering a free preview of nine premium HD channels in their HD Extra Pack. The preview started on Feb. 22nd and will run through Feb. 28th, 2016. The networks can be found on DirecTV channel 565 through 573.
The HD Extra Pack channel lineup includes Sony Movie Channel HD, MTV Live, Smithsonian HD,
Universal HD, MGM HD, ShortsHD, Hallmark Movies & Mysteries HD, Crime & Investigation HD,
and HDNet Movies, (See channel locations below.)
The HD Extra Pack channels are also available to stream on PCs and mobile devices such as tablets and smartphones while on a home network. If accessed away from home viewers will only be able to set the channels to record.
DirecTV does, however, allow select channels to be streamed while away from home. See a list of DirecTV Everywhere channels.
