One of the more anticipated home entertainment products coming in 2016 is the Ultra HD Blu-ray player capable of reading Ultra HD content from next-gen BDs for display on 4k TVs.
Panasonic brought along their Ultra HD Blu-ray player to CES 2016, and although the product is not yet available to consumers (nor to pre-order, as is Samsung’s UBD-K8500), we caught of glimpse of the DMP-UB900 playing Mad Max: Fury Road on the new Panasonic 65DX900 Premium Ultra HD TV.
With a wide range of contrast, color and detail, the image was nothing less than what we expected from the Ultra HD Blu-ray specs released last year, that among other technical improvements supports 3840 x 2160 video resolution with over 8 million megapixels.
The Panasonic DMP-UB900 also supports THX certification, 7.1 Channel audio output, DLNA, and HDR playback.
Panasonic hasn’t revealed pricing yet, or an exact ship date, only that it will be available sometime this year.
