Sling TV has added Sony Pictures Television’s (SPT) Cine Sony Television to the service’s over-the-top lineup of channels. The network offers native Spanish-language movies or English movies dubbed in Spanish such as Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle, About Last Night, and Single White Female.
Cine Sony Television is available with several different add-on packages including “Paquete Total,” “Best of Spanish TV,” and “Películas & Novelas.” Sling customers also need to have the base “Best of Live TV” channel package to get “Best of Spanish TV” and “Películas & Novelas.”
The Sling TV “Paquete Total” package costs an additional $12 per month (Best of Live TV not required), while “Best of Spanish TV” and “Películas & Novelas” each cost an additional $5 per month.
“While other traditional pay-TV providers have abandoned their Latino-focused OTT services, Sling Latino will continue to expand our Spanish-language programming and develop a personalized TV viewing experience for our customers,” said Roger Lynch, CEO of Sling TV.
“Cine Sony Television is a leader in providing access to top quality entertainment in Spanish via the platforms viewers most prefer,” said Tom Troy, senior vice president, distribution, networks, U.S., SPT.
Sony’s Cine Sony Television launched in August, 2012 on Verizon FiOS TV, and was the first Spanish language entertainment channel for the US Hispanic market.
