Samsung has revealed the release date and details about their new Galaxy View device. The Galaxy View may be too big to be called a tablet, with an 18.4-inch display (1920 x 1080p), the device is about 8-inches bigger than the Galaxy Tab S 10.5.
Samsung describes the Galaxy View as “built to stream,” with WiFi (802.11 a/b/g/n/ac), optional LTE connection, and Android-backed touch-screen interface that makes it easy to start watching Netflix, Showtime, Hulu, and other video services.
The viewer is designed with a grab-and-go handle and two-way stand (see pics below), and includes a 2.1 megapixel camera for large-as-life video chat.
Under the hood, the Galaxy View runs on a 1.6 GHz Octa-core processor with 2GB RAM and 32GB storage space. A microSD slot also allows expandable memory up to 128GB.
In case you’re wondering, battery life is rated up to 8 hours on a full charge.
The Galaxy View will be available starting Nov. 6 at Best Buy and other retailers with an MSRP of $599.99.
