One of the first TV manufacturers to partner with Roku was TCL, and as promised the company will deliver a lineup of Roku TV models for the first half of 2015. Although an exact ship date has not been announced, TCL has revealed some model numbers and retail prices. In all, there are three distinct product lines that will include the Roku OS for connectivity: the 3700 Entry-Level Series, 3800 Design Series and TCL’s top-of-the-line 3850 Decorator Series.
The TCL Roku TV 3700 Series will come in three sizes: 32″ 32S3700 ($219 MSRP), 48″ 48S3700 ($429 MSRP) and 55″ 55S3700 ($598 MSRP). Of the three, only the larger 48″ and 55″ sizes have Full High-Definition (1080p) resolution displayed with a 120Hz refresh rate.
The TCL Roku TV 3800 Series will be available in four sizes upon launch: the 32″ model 32S3800, 40″ model 40S3800, 48″ model 48S3800, and 50″ model 50S3800. All four models have 1080p resolution and 120Hz refresh rate with the exception of the 32” size. Prices have not been released.
TCL’s top-of-the-line Roku TV 3850 Series will also come in four sizes: a 32″ model 32S3850, 40″ model 40S3850, 50″ model 50S3850, and 55″ model 55S3850. Not much more was revealed in terms of pricing and specs, but we do know the models come with premium design and metallic finish in gunmetal.
Early this year TCL also announced they would be partnering with Roku to deliver 4k video to TCL Roku Ultra HD TVs in the future.
