Universal Studio’s hit comedy Neighbors will release to Digital HD six weeks earlier than disc formats when it hits download servers on August 12, 2014. The Blu-ray Disc, DVD, and On Demand options will follow on September 23. This is an earlier Digital release than usual, as a two to three week window is more common for new titles. However, those who do wait will be able to acquire a Digital HD copy (via UltraViolet) with the Blu-ray Disc combo edition.
The home media release of Neighbors to Digital HD and Blu-ray will include a never-before-seen alternate opening, deleted and alternate scenes, and interviews (also not typical for a Digital release). The Blu-ray Disc includes other bonus material such as a gag reel, behind-the-scenes content, and several film featurettes.
The film on Blu-ray is formatted in 2.40:1 widescreen aspect ratio with English DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 and DVS 2.0 Dolby Digital soundtracks. Spanish and French tracks are available in DTS Digital Surround 5.1.
