Amazon Fire TV Channels Launching This Year

amazon-firetv-channels-adding

Everybody wants to know what channels Amazon’s Fire TV has to offer compared to other streaming media players such as Apple TV, Chromecast, and most specifically Roku. While Roku players still have many more channels, Amazon is not wasting any time getting the most popular channels added to the Fire TV lineup. And, even though the channel most in demand may be HBO Go (likely driven by the popularity of “Game of Thrones” series), Amazon is promising the release of several new channels (some of them not available on Roku) by the end of this year. HBO Go hasn’t been officially been announced yet, but here’s the lineup coming your way.

WWE: The World Wrestling Entertainment provides 24-hour access to video programming, including 12 live pay-per-view events, reality shows, live programs, and on-demand content. A paid subscription through a participating TV provider is required.

Watch ABC: The Watch ABC channel provides free, on-demand access to the U.S. television network ABC, including full episodes and clips from much of the channel’s national programming lineup, as well as current episodes after they air. Sign-in with participating TV provider required.

Watch ABC Family: With the Watch ABC Family channel you can view full episodes anytime and anywhere, or watch live broadcasts of popular shows such as “Pretty Little Liars” and “The Fosters.” Sign-in with participating TV provider required for viewing.

Watch Disney Channel: The Watch Disney Channel provides Disney shows live and on-demand, anytime you want, with access to popular TV series and movies such as “Teen Beach Movie,” “Liv and Maddie,” and “Phineas and Ferb.” A subscription to a participating TV provider is required.

PBS Kids: PBS KIDS features more than 1,000 videos from over a dozen top PBS KID television series, including “Curious George,” “The Cat in the Hat Knows A Lot About That,” “Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood,” “Dinosaur Train,” “SUPER WHY!,” “Wild Kratts,” and “Sesame Street.”

  1. Disappointed so far after 1 week. I specifically wanted soccer channels NBC sports/soccer network, fox soccer channels, GOL TV. The only soccer channel is BEIN sports and that carries more taped games than live ones. If you had these, I can get a whole lot of my soccer colleagues to buy in. So for now, I’ll have to stay with expensive DirecTV. What a mess!

    Thanks for nothing.
