Walmart is hoping to get more Vudu subscribers by allowing users to share a title with up to five different friends via their email addresses. The Share My Movie feature will tap into a customer’s UltraViolet collection, allowing up to three simultaneous streams at the same time. If a friend doesn’t has an account, they’ll need to sign up to get access to the titles you share with them. But Vudu accounts and UltraViolet libraries are free. And, the movies can be watched on various devices including PCs and Macs, smartphones, tablets and streaming media players. If you’re wondering about username and password access, each friend will get their own within their profiles in your library. So, you don’t have to share your password for your friends for them to get access. UV titles are offered via access codes with the purchase of Blu-ray Disc titles from several distributors, as well as through Walmart’s Disc-to-Digital service. Vudu is currently offering 5 free movies from select titles for new sign-ups.
