We just got word DirecTV will be offering subscribers a preview of all the channels included in the EXTRA package from May 25 through June 1st. The additional channels will be available for customers who are currently subscribed to the lower tier CHOICE, ENTERTAINMENT, and SELECT packages. The EXTRA bundle includes over 205 channels and costs $44.99 per year for new customers with a 24-month agreement (regularly $73.99 per month). DIRECTV currently offers six different service packages, including the slightly more expensive ULTIMATE package and top-tier PREMIERE package offered for $97.99 per month for new customers (regularly $129.99 per month).
Popular HD channels in the EXTRA package include NBC Sports Network (Ch. 220), DIY Network HD (Ch. 230), Nat Geo Wild (Ch. 283), H2 (Ch. 271), and NBA TV HD (Ch. 216).
Additional channels available in the EXTRA package but not in lower tiers include AHC (American Heroes Channel), Bio HD (Biography Channel HD), CBSSN HD (CBS Sports Network HD), CTRC (Centric Channel), DEST HD (Destination America HD), DFH (Discover Fit & Health), FS2 HD (FOX Sports 2 HD), FXX HD, GOLF HD, GAC (Great American Country), H2 HD, HUB, LOGO TV, mun2, OVTN, OXGN, and PIVT (Pivot Channel).
