ABC drops ‘Killer Women,’ bumps ‘Mind Games’

Hope you weren’t getting too excited about a full season of ABC’s new drama Killer Women, because the network has decided to replace the series with Mind Games, a new drama about the relationship between two brothers played by  Christian Slater and Steve Zahn. The much-promoted Killer Women received horrible reviews from critics, one writer from The Hollywood Reporter calling it “shoot-me-now bad.” The series stars Tricia Helfer (Battlestar Galactica) as the only woman in the Texas Rangers police investigation department. The series was produced by Sofia Vergara, and was based on the Argentinean drama Mujeres Asesinas.

Mind Games  was originally slated to premiere on Monday, March 11. Instead, the show will air its first episode on Tuesday, Feb. 25 at 10 PM.

Other upcoming ABC midseason shows include Mixology on February 26 at 9:30 PM, Grey’s Anatomy on February 27 at 9:00 PM, Once Upon a Time in Wonderland on March 9 at 8:00 PM, and Resurrection later on March 9 at 9:00 PM. ABC Family will also premiere the new season of Twisted on February 11 at 9:00 PM.

  1. nothing like the Argentinian and Mexican version. now that’s what i call tv at its best. every episode of the show featured a different story and actress. the story was never based on a cop alone only the killer women. obviously this show is a failed attempt to redo what has been remarkably done.

  2. I guess the take away here is that mainstream tv has just flat out become crap (yes of course with a few rare exceptions). Only they don’t know it yet and it seems a lot of the people involved (actors, writers, etc) don’t know it either. And for whatever reason there are still enough people out there who are watching this crap for whatever reason (because the “actors” are good looking I guess) that it continues to exist. I guess acting is like any other job and a paycheck’s a paycheck. Go figure.

  3. Killer Women was bad but I saw two episodes of Mind Games and they were unwatchable. They were cliche and borderline racist with the nice white boys helping the poor black family. #mytwocents
