With 2 million set-top boxes already incorporating cloud-based navigation, Time Warner Cable says they are expanding roll-out of the services to over 6 million set-top boxes by the end of 2014. The cloud-based TV guide simplifies navigation, gives you more program information, provides a new video-on-demand interface, and improves search results and discover. And, the new guide is provided in full HD at 16:9 widescreen aspect ratio.
“We’ve received great feedback on our new cloud-based guide features and are excited to deliver an even better television experience for our customers,” said Rob Marcus, President and Chief Operating Officer.
New Set-top Box Digital Features include:
- Widescreen HD Guide – A new guide in true HD, including a 16:9 aspect ratio
- Advanced Search and Discovery – The search tool now brings more than simple title searches. In addition to making it easier to search for favorite shows, movies and more, the new “What’s Hot” category highlights popular titles with rich box art and customers can browse titles by Genre. Search itself now returns results after the first letter, bringing up the closest matches first, refined as customers enter additional letters
