Although it’s just been a few weeks since the launch of the Xbox One Verizon spared no time in getting a compatible app released for their FiOS TV services. The app is the first from a US provider to offer live TV from multiple channels in high definition. Making use of the Xbox One’s built-in Kinect features, the FiOS TV app also supports voice commands and gestures. In total, up to 74 live channels are available through the console for Xbox Live Gold subscribers who have Verizon as a TV service provider. No doubt other TV providers will soon follow with updates for Xbox One.
“Gaming consoles have evolved into digital entertainment hubs, and partnering with Microsoft breaks down technology barriers and maximizes the value and enjoyment FiOS customers get from FiOS and their Xbox One,” said John Wimsatt, Verizon’s vice president of product development.
