LG has starting taking orders on what they are calling the first device to be designated a Google Play Edition tablet, using Google’s first Android Open Source Project (AOSP). The tablet runs on Android 4.4 “KitKat” with a 1.7GHz Quad-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 Processor, with an 8.3″ display IPS WUXGA display at 1920 x 1200 pixels (273 ppi). The tablet comes with 16GB eMMC memory and 2GB LPDDR2 RAM, and front and back cameras. And, apps can utilize every pixel of the allowing edge-to-edge user interface design. “LG’s working relationship with Google has always been strong and our collaboration on the first-ever Google Play Edition tablet is proof of that commitment,” said Dr. Jong-seok Park, President and CEO of the LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company.
