Asian sources say Samsung will be the supplier for the next iPad mini displays. The new ‘mini’ will feature a higher resolution Retina display, but the size will likely stay the same as the current iPad mini at 7.9″. Although Apple and Samsung are competitors, and frequently engaged in legal disputes, Apple has few choices for manufacturers who can produce the high quality Apple demands. LG and Sharp have also been asked to produce screens for the tablet, and Samsung is one of those few suppliers who can meet supply needs. According to sources who spoke with The Wall Street Journal, mass production of the new iPad mini might come late in Q4 of this year, or Q1 of 2014.
