24th James Bond film to be directed by Sam Mendes

20130711h-095730.jpgEON Productions, MGM and Sony announced today Sam Mendes will direct the next James Bond film with production title ‘Bond 24.’ The press release also confirmed Daniel Craig will return for his fourth stint as 007, and John Logan (Skyfall, The Last Samurai) will return to write the screenplay. The film is slated to hit theaters on November 6, 2015 in the US, and October 23, 2015 in the UK.

“I very much look forward to taking up the reins again, and to working with Daniel Craig, Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli for a second time,” said Sam Mendes.

“We are thrilled to reunite the extraordinary talents of director Sam Mendes with our star Daniel Craig for the next great Bond adventure,” said Gary Barber, Chairman & CEO, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer.

The announcement didn’t reveal any official cast members except for Craig, although you can bet on Ben Whishaw returning as ‘Q.’ Penélope Cruz, Ralph Fiennes and Naomie Harris are rumored to be in the film.
