DIRECTV is offering a free trial of their “Ultimate” package, an assortment of sports, lifestyle, and movie channels that usually costs $77.99 per month. However, the free trial is only available to customers with XTRA programming. And, local channels are not included in the preview. In total, the “Ultimate” package offers over 225 channels, and adds 15 more channels than the “Choice” package. Popular channels in the higher tier “Ultimate” package include NHL Network HD, Sprout, Boomerang, Style, Sundance, and several versions of The Movie Channel. The free preview ends on Sunday, May 5.
